Creating Internal Citations and The Works Cited Page
It is very important that you give credit to the original authors of the work you will be using to create your research paper. Failure to properly cite information you use results in plagiarism! You need to include a brief in-text citation, or internal citation, within the body of your research paper whenever you use non-original material. This internal citation allows readers to know which of your full length citations, found in the works cited section, is being referenced.
Examples:
The first science research web page was established by Joe Smith in May of 1991 (Wilt, 2012).
-OR-
George Wilt reported that the first research web page was established by Joe Smith in May of 1991 (2012).

Your "Works Cited" section should appear at the end of your paper and works should be arranged alphabetically by author (or title, if no author appears in the entry.) In this section you should list only works actually cited. (Your teacher may also request a list of works consulted.)
